There's always something to do!

Its no surprise to see downtown Fort Pierce packed during the weekend. The beaches are thoroughly enjoyed by visitors, people walking to their next stop, and smiling faces are everywhere. Why? Because there’s always something to do in Fort Pierce!

So what’s going on this weekend?

Wait, wait,… before the weekend… question: have you ever seen a Space X night launch on the Jetty! Space X is launching tonight around 8:45 pm and the Jetty Inlet is the perfect location to see it! The view is great for photographers or if you’re just wanting to take a nice peaceful walk.

Also, tomorrow night at the River Walk Center, United Way is hosted Cinema Under the Stars, a FREE outdoor movie night featuring the timeless classic E.T. The movie begins at 6:30 pm and all you need is something to sit on. For more info, please call 772.464.5300.

Okay, on to the weekend!

Our Saturday mornings begin at the Farmer’s Market and Craft Jazz Market at 8:00 am, however, just down the road is the Annual Nature Fest happening at the Manatee Observation Center. The event begins at 9:00 am and goes until 3:00 pm. It’s a great time for the family with non-stop activities, but… don’t leave too soon because the Florida Cracker Trail will be coming into town from the west coast. These riders will end their 120 mile stretch with a wonderful parade in downtown Fort Pierce. You won’t want to miss it!

A look a March events.

“FriYay” FEST is back March 1st. Live entertainment, food and crafts vendors all down by the water front in Marina Square. The fun starts at 5:30 pm! Hope to see you there.

The Great American Cleanup is Saturday, March 2nd hosted by Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful. Volunteers meet at 8;00 am, load up on buses and are escorted to a work site where a team of people will come together to help clean up our beautiful community. If you’d like to volunteer, visit

Citizens Academy begins Thursday, March 7th at 5:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for anyone, new or old to the area to come learn about the City in a fun and interactive way. Registration closes Monday, February 25th, so there’s still time to sign up! Just go to

Next is the 2nd Annual Blessing of the Fleet held Saturday, March 9th just off of South Beach Causeway. The United States Coast Guard, St. Andrews Episcopal Academy, Freedom Boat Club and the City of Fort Pierce will be out on the water blessing boats as they pass by in honor of Boater Safety Week. Following the blessing, the public is invited to a free BBQ on South Beach Causeway along with educational booths and live entertainment. The Blessing begins at 11:00 am and BBQ on the beach side starts at 12:00 pm.

Friday, March 15th, the Fort Pierce Police Department hosts Movies in the Fort featuring Incredibles 2!! The movie begins at 7:00 pm in front of the Police Station. Bring the family, lawn chairs, and snacks for a free, fun time in the Fort! For more information, please call 772.467.3031.

How to kick off your weekend in the Fort

How about starting your Friday morning with a cup o’ Joe at Coffee with the Mayor. Enjoy a beautiful sunrise by the River Walk, grab a cup of coffee, free, inside the Fort Pierce Yacht Club, and have a seat as the Mayor goes over City of Fort Pierce updates. Begins at 8:00 AM at the Fort Pierce Yacht Club, 700 N. Indian River Dr.

Run, run, run through the first inaugural Peacock DASH! The run starts at 7:30 AM at Anytime Fitness on the corner Orange Ave and S. 7th Street.. For more information, visit

Next, the Fort Pierce Farmers Market celebrates 22 years this Saturday - Join us down by the river front at Marina Square for live entertainment, craft and food vendors and more all starting at 8:00 AM for that Saturday morning tradition!

From there, head over to the 4th Annual Highwaymen Heritage Trail Art Show & Festival featuring the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Highwaymen artist! The festival begins at 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. There will be craft and food vendors, live entertainment, art and more!

Argghhhh you ready for Pirate Fest!? That’s right, its back from Friday , February 15th thru Sunday, February 17th at Veterans Memorial Park located at 600 N. Indian River Dr. The Pirate Fest will feature pirate themed attractions such as a Living History Pirate Encampment, Pirate Ships, a Little Buccaneer Kids Zone, Pirate Weapon Demonstrations with Real Cannons, and more!

Something for the fishermen or fisher-women… you already know its Snook season and there are plenty of hot spots in Fort Pierce to snag that trophy fish. The Jetty Inlet is always teeming with live bait for saltwater anglers and Melody Lane Fishing Pier has some amazing views to enjoy while you relax. We hear the catch is good right now too, so good luck.
