CITY OF FORT PIERCE HOSTS SECOND ANNUAL SCAVENGER HUNT TO CELEBRATE CITY GOVERNMENT WEEK

Seven plus challenges • One epic adventure

The City of Fort Pierce will be joining cities across the state in celebrating Florida City Government Week by hosting a Scavenger Hunt on Monday, October 29, 2018 between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The Scavenger Hunt will give residents, visitors, families and friends an opportunity to uncover clues that will lead them around Downtown Fort Pierce. Participants will have a chance to check out local hot spots by tackling interactive challenges, puzzles, and riddles as a team. At each stop, hunters will interact with city employees who will cheer them on their quest.

Registration for the Scavenger Hunt is free and can be done online at http://www.lovefortpierce.com/registration-1/. For your convenience, there are three time slots available: 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Costumes are not required, but in the spirit of the season, tasteful costumes are welcome. All stops are within walking distance of each other, so lace up those sneakers, park the car and get ready!

For more information, visit www.LoveFortPierce.com or contact the City Manager's Office at 772.467.3031.

Note: This is brand new scavenger hunt. The clues are different from last year so returning hunters are encouraged to participate again!

NEW CHARACTERS ADDED TO 2018 TOURS!!
On October 24th and 25th historical figures from Fort Pierce’s past will tell their stories all throughout the downtown area. This annual living history tour is a fun way to learn about the people that settled in this area before the conveniences of air conditioning, mosquito control, and modern transportation.

Since there are so many interesting stories to tell, there are FOUR different Ghosts of Fort Pierce Past walking tours. Each tour is approximately 1 hour in length, has between 8-10 stops, and waiting at each stop is an actor portraying a person that has lived here in the past. NEW THIS YEAR - Many of our 2018 actors are descendants of the characters they will portray.

The Ghost of Fort Pierce Past tours are a fundraiser for Main Street Fort Pierce. Each tour is $5 per person and no charge for children under 5. This is a very popular event that sells out each year so reservations are required. Participants need to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled tour and wear comfortable walking shoes. The first tours leave at 5:30 p.m. with additional tours leaving every 15 minutes until 7:30 p.m.
